FINISHED QUILTING

I finished up the quilting on Bona Dea and took it off the machine.  It's beautiful.

UNSEWING AND RESEWING

After seeing the picture of the Bona Dea quilt put together yesterday, it bothered me that there was a place that looked too jarring.  There was a line of darks I couldn't unsee.

So, I picked out a section.  I was going to just turn the block over, but that didn't work.  I ended up replacing some of the pieces.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

I took my value study blocks to class last weekend, so now I can sew them all together (with the other parts) and make a quilt top.

I was going to load Birdbox onto the longarm this afternoon, but it was way too hot up in the studio.

It was hot...

NINE PIECES

Okay, the  value quilt, Bona Dea, is now sewn together as much as I can.  

It's in nine pieces, all labeled.



I can't sew it completely together until after I show the value blocks that I made for the Design Class I'm taking in a few weeks.  These value blocks were the impetus for making Bona Dea.

VALUE NAMED

This quilt/assignment I've been working on and refering to as the Value quilt has been named.  I'm calling it Bona Dea, good goddess.  It is named after a Roman goddess, a Spring goddess representing fertility.  I settled on this name because the quilt was made in the month of May and Bona Dea is a goddess representing May.

Anyway, I finally got the upper pieces sewn together and moved up so I could add more rows onto the bottom. 

Still need to sew them together.

I still have a few pieces left.
