PAISLEY CITY SAMPLER SOLD

My Paisley City Sampler, a quilt made from the blocks in Tula Pink's City Sampler book, sold on Etsy today.  It will be living in Florida soon.

Good-bye and good luck, I hope you are well loved.

MAKING BACK FOR DAISY

I've started making a backing for the Improv Daisy quilt.  It's really big and the backing needs to be even bigger.  I've been squaring up some of my old paisleys that are close to the right colors.  There's been lots of partial seams.  I'm having fun.

I don't want a center seam to go all the way down, so I need to switch some things up.

ON THE WALL

I put my City Sampler blocks, from #100days100blocks2018 on Instagram, up on my design wall.

Since they are in order, I guess I'll have to sew them together.

MORE APPLIQUE

It's another Splendid Sampler 2 applique block this week.

I was busy doing other things, but I did get the parts and pieces prepared for this block.

It rained last night.  Our morning walk was clear and dry, but the colors in the park were spectacular.

SPLENDID FRIDAY

Julie and Jeff took us to Port Townsend, on Thursday, to look at  a promising property with a 3-bedroom home and a 3500 square foot shop on two acres [sounds perfect, right?].  It turned out to be too much of a project - so much work to be done.

We were back home by 2:30 with a lot to think about.

After a lot of discussion and thought, we decided we really appreciated our little home here in West Seattle [our little oasis].  We decided to stop looking for an alternative.

Today was a busy one, but I managed to get this stunning paper-pieced block  from the Splendid Sampler 2, done.  I love it!

Yesterday morning I had finished the applique and embroidery on last week's SS2 block and I got it ironed today, too.

CITY SAMPLER BLOCKS DONE

Hallelujuah, hallelujuah!!  I finished with making the City Sampler Blocks today!  And I did it while listening to a podcast, "Just Wanna Quilt" hosted by Dr. Elizabeth Townsend Gard, who was interviewing Tula Pink and Mary Fons.  It was very interesting.  I finished up about the same time the podcast did.

Check that one off the To-Do List.

I'm still posting them to Instagram [@terrypeart] everyday.  We are on number 54 today.  So, I can't do anything with them until the contest is over, but...

I can't wait to get them all up on the wall and decide on the background fabric.  White or grey?

GETTING CLOSE TO END

I worked on machine quilting Pub Path, getting the top border on and rolling on.  My lower back was aching so I spent the afternoon working on my few remaining City Sampler blocks.

SS2 PAPER PIECED BLOCK

This week's Splendid Sampler 2 block is a paper-pieced tree.

I love paper piecing.

This one is great.

It's called Flowering Tree, but I made it in autumn colors.  I love autumn.

WEEKLY BLOCKS

I totally spaced out on the Block Heads block yesterday.  So I downloaded the pattern for it and Splendid Sampler 2 today and made them both.

It was a drizzly morning, finally.  But it was very refreshing.

FOUR IN ONE

Wow, I made four City Sampler blocks today and Eduard got wheels!

We picked up these RED wheels at McLendon's Hardware in White Center, along with the hardware.  Darrell put them all together today.  So cool.

The plan is move him back to make more room in the middle of the studio, where I can set up a table for working at.

As for the City Sampler blocks, I've moved through and out of the Triangle chapter and into the Rectangle chapter.  These blocks go together a lot quicker, so far.

GETTING AHEAD

I haven't been working on Frolic, which is on the machine and is only partially quilted.

But, I made these City Sampler blocks today.

It's still very hot out.

WALL ART

In the process of moving the sewing table and adding a bookshelf for the solids, I decided I didn't want my rulers on the cutting table.  So, Darrell made a board that fits into this odd space on the wall and I stopped to get little nails today.

I arranged the rulers on the wall.  I love it.

Then I made another City Sampler block, then I organized my new thread drawer by putting dividers in it (what a pain).

Geez, I just realized I did this block backwards.  I think I better make it over.
Stand by.

ALL OF THEM

I took all eight of the Moda Block Heads 2 blocks that I've made so far and put them on the wall.

I worked on the Mortar and Putty blocks, then made another City Sampler block.  Then it got to hot upstairs in the studio.
