TRIP TO FARGO

 We all piled into two cars and set out for Fargo, an hour drive north of Hankinson.

Our first stop was at the Plains Art Museum which had a display of 42 quilts curated by Nancy Crow called  Color Improvisations 3.

We a bit surprised to see the museum was filled with workers installing tables and displays for an upcoming event.  There were light fixtures on the floor to manuever around and things being constructed.  We were thankful they let us in to see the show.

The next stop was lunch at Rosewild restaurant.  Excellent food!  Just across and down the street from the restaurant was the famous Fargo Theatre where the Fargo movie was premiered.

NYC QUILT MAILED

 I put my NYC quilt into the post.  It's on its way to Hampton Virginia for the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show, February 29-March 3rd.

I won't be there, so I would appreciate it if you could send me a picture of it hanging there.

SECOND DAY OF QUILTCON 2023

 It's Friday, and I was supposed to be in a workshop. But, I didn't go because I would rather have spent my day walking the show with Sherri Lynn Wood and other Brave Patch members.

I met up with them all at the Best of Show quilt at 10am.

We had a great time looking at the quilts.  We moved slowly and didn't see the whole show.  

The big group broke up at lunchtime to find something to eat. 

I went to a lecture at 5pm "Printing for Patchwork"

Then it was out to dinner with the group of us that met at Irene Roderick's Workshop in Coupeville last July.

I had this great San Francisco Asian Salad.  Yum.

Some of us enjoyed our dinner more than others.

PIQF HAPPENING

 I have two quilts at the Pacific International Quilt Fest (PIQF) in Santa Clara, California this week.

We didn't attend, but a friend who did sent me these pictures.

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND QUILT FEST

 Darrell and I went to the Bainbridge Island Quilt Fest for the first time every.

We took an early ferry from Seattle and stopped at the Steamliner Cafe for breakfast.

I had a pesto omelette, yum. We sat at the counter and I sketched the grill.

We went up to the BARN and toured it, then went back downtown and found Winslow Green where the quilt show was.  There was over 200 quilts there.

It was a fun day.

THE BLUES ARE IN SACRAMENTO

 My new friend Nikki went to Meissner Sewing Center in Sacramento and sent me pictures of my quilt, Rhythm in Blues, which is currently hanging there along with the other 'Best of Quiltcon 2022' quilts.

Seems an odd venue, but what the heck - they are being seen.

OFF AND OFF

 Off she goes!  Here goes 'Seasons' off to another show.  This time to Santa Clara California for the Pacific International Quilt Festival (PIQF).

Back home, I started to take out the quilting I've done on the 'Blues' quilt. The parts in the blue bits, anyway.   This may take a bit of time (more time than it took to sew it in the first place).  Ugh.

GOING TO SANTA CLARA

 My 'Seasons' quilt is going to the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara!  This is a first time I've gotten a quilt into this show.

I don't think we'll be going though.  The quilt travels much more than I do.

BEST USE OF COLOR

I just watched the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival Awards Show online - Visuals 3, my little quilt Seasons won "Best Use of Color" tonight.  Yoohoo!

The award comes with a ribbon and $150 cash prize.  

QUILTCON 2020

The line was long.  Darrell went with me and we went through the whole show.  Good husband.

ROAD 2 CA WINNER

I was pleasantly surprised today to find out my quilt, Carolinas, was awarded "Best Use of Color" in the Road to California Quilt Show and Conference 2020.  It's held in Ontario California, so we didn't attend.  My friend, Kim, who was working at the A-1 booth, sent me these pictures.

P.S. the award comes with a $1000 prize.  Yoo-hoo!

QUILTCON 2019

Here we are, finally at the main event, Quiltcon in Nashville.

Darrell dropped me off and went to do his own thing.  I waited in lines, first to get my entry badge, then the very long line to get it when the doors opened.

The event was held in the beautiful Music City Center

FAIR DAY

Darrell and I went to the Washington State Fair in Puyallup this morning.  It opened at 10:30 and we were there, waiting in line.  

First stop was upstairs to see the quilts.  I was gleefully surprised to see that my quilt, Chain Reaction had won an Honorable Mention ribbon.

But when we found my other quilt, AM/FM, I was over the moon.  It had a blue ribbon and a rosette for an Award of Merit for Quilting.  Woohoo!  

After, we perused the paintings and voted for our favorites.  Then we went back and voted for our favorite quilts.

We continued our visited to the Fair by looking at the giant pumpkins, the giant horses, the little goats and eating a Krusty Pup for lunch. [I even broke down and had a Scone, oops.]

It was a good day.

APWQ 2011 QUILT SHOW

At the Tacoma Convention Center

The Association of Pacific West Quilters had their semi-annual quilt show in Tacoma, Washington on August 26 - 28.

Being a member I had submitted one of my quilts for inclusion in a special showing of 'Star Quilts'.  It was accepted, and I mailed it off to them several weeks ago.

I took the day off work, Friday, to go see it and the show.

I got there rather early and was pleased that it was not crowded and I got a good look at the exhibits and the vendor booths before it started to fill up.  

As I entered - hardly anyone there yet.

My quilt is the one of the far left - Mistletoe Mountain.

I was a little disappointed.  The space where the special exhibits were was very under-lighted.  And they spelled my name wrong on the placard next to my quilt, and they really got it wrong in the catalog.  I am now Terri Pearl.

But, it is nice to have the quilt out and about and hopefully being appreciated.  When it comes home, it goes back in it's box.  Unless, someone wants to buy it.
