PUZZLING IT TOGETHER

I got out my 30 Minutes of Play blocks and pieces.  I sewed together the top part and discovered it ended up wider than I thought.  I then had to reorganize everything.  Now it's totally different.

  

GROOVY SATURDAY

 There was a Groove Session this morning with Brave Patch.  This month was about a Mash-Up, using blocks from previous project and Play Sessions, mashing them together to make a quilt top.

Sherri talked about finding commonalities with the blocks and using that to create harmony.

I got out my 30 Minutes of Play blocks that I've made over the year with the Monday Sewcial group. 

My blocks are mostly made using the same fabrics, blues, blacks and whites, and the occassion odd fabric.

This is how they looked at the beginning of the morning.

Then, afterward I worked on my Handmade book challenge.  I glued on the papers inside the covers, along with ribbons.  Then, I poked the holes in the signatures.

I went back to working on the mash-up.  This is how I left it at the end of the night.

FITTING AND ADDING

 I'm quilting on Hugs and Kisses and also messing around with the little improv pieces I made during the BP-Monday Sewcial 30 Minutes of Improv.

I'm adding fabric and pieces to filling places.

A QUICK HOUR

 I only had about one quick hour up in the studio today.  So, I messed around with these 'blocks' again.  I added some bigger pieces of light blue that I had (leftovers from Rhythm in Blues, which is on it's way to Houston, as we speak) and moved some things around.  Then I was off to have lunch with Mom and Julie.

MONDAY AGAIN

It's Monday - that means it's time for Brave Patch Monday Sewcial.  And first, it's 30 Minutes of Play.  Sherri Lynn and June joined us today, along with a lot of new folks.  Here's mine - continuing with the same fabrics, pretty much.

After our 30 Minutes of Play at the beginning, I got caught up on the Art East Quilting little blocks.  A new block pattern is released every Monday.  I had two to do today.

MONDAY FUN

 It was another fun Brave Patch Monday Sewcial.  We started out doing our 30 Minutes of Play.  Claudia spun the wheels to pick the colors, shape and theme.  I tend to ignore the prompts that don't work with my group of other 'blocks' made during these sessions.  Here is what I made today:

MONDAY STUFF

 Brave Patch Monday Sewcial has been starting with 30 Minutes of Play.  Here's what I came up with today.  

I also got this week's Art East Mini-Block Challenge done.  Number 13, Log Cabin.

I also got a little work done on the Stack-n-Cut Curves project.  Most of it is now sewn together.  But, there's a lot left to do. And I'm a bit stumped.  It was suggested I put it away and let it marinate for a while.  So, that's what I'm going to do.
