A DAY IN SAVANNAH

We spent the day exploring Savannah.

First stop was the Bonadventure Cemetery.

Then, it was back into town to get on a City Trolley, On and Off Tour.

We got off the trolley to see the inside of the Roman Catholic Cathedral Basilica of St John the Baptist.

Back onto the trolley, and into the city center, where we got off to have lunch at an Irish Pub, Wexford.  Darrell had Shepard's Pie, I tried the Cobb Salad.  Then back onto the trolley.

Next stop was to tour an historic home, the Davenport House.

We were enjoying it so much, we forgot to take pictures!

INTO SAVANNAH GEORGIA

Before we left St Augustine we made a stop at Fort Matanzas National Monument also.  The ferry to take you out to the actual fort that is situated on a small island was not up and running.  We settled for a few quick pictures and getting our passport stamp.

Then it was up the coast to Savannah Georgia.  On the way, I wanted to make another quick stop at Fort Caroline National Monument and the Timucuan Ecological Preserve.  But, when we got there the gates were not open.  Their sign said they should have been open, but they weren't.  That was very frustrating.

Once in Savannah we headed to Fort Pulaski National Monument.  The wind was blowing and it was cold, but we enjoyed it.
