85/100

Worked on my Leaf Tablerunner and a little bit on my 100dayproject2020.

Oh, the Kona Flamingo fabric I ordered has finally arrived!  I can work on the Ribbons quilt tomorrow, too.

84/100

Monday, cleaning day.  I got a lot done, but not a lot of sewing.

I couldn't wait and ran out to get some fish for the little aquarium I put up in the studio.  The plan is to grow these Comet Goldfish into a little bit bigger fish before I release them into the pond.  That way they should stand a chance against my gigantic Shubunkin.

Here's my five new arrivals:

Here's a bad picture of the large Shubunkin - I should give him/her a name, huh?

This one is about 12-14" long.

Here are the two that survived.  The little one is at least 8" long and very fast.

83/100

I made a back for the Layered Curves quilt.  I found some fabrics in my stash that would work.  That's always a plus.  But, I really need to sort through my fabrics and get rid of some.  Things are way too full.

I spent some time working on my 100dayproject2020 making eight more triangle foundation blocks from my scrap bucket.

After lunch, I started a new project for a tablerunner.  It starts with making some strip sets.

That's all I got done on that project before I had to stop to help Darrell get the studio ready for bug bombing.  Everything had to be either removed or covered.

82/100

I sewed together my Layered Curves from the workshop.

Then I sewed together the parts I have (I don't know the name of this pattern)   and pinned it all up while it waits for more Kona Flamingo, which is on it's way and should be here next Tuesday.

I also loaded the Quilting is My Therapy pre-printed quilt onto my longarm, and then realized I don't have any batting.  Then I finished off the day by sewing some scraps onto my triangle foundation pieces.

I need to clean off the design wall so I can get my triangles back up there and figure out what more I need.

81/100

Another day of painting the rail posts on the new deck.  But, I got it done.  Two coats on them all.

I sewed up a few more triangle scrappy blocks, too.

80/100

It was a paint day.  I sanded the old rail posts on the deck and then painted them.  After lunch, I had some errands to run.  So, I didn't get much sewing done.  But I did manage to keep up with my 100dayproject2020.  I made two more triangle blocks from my scrap bucket.

79/100

I worked some more on my new project.  Since I'm short of the main fabrics, I  needed to order some more.  I was shocked to find out that my main fabric, Kona Flamingo, which was the Color of the Year in 2017, has been discontinued.  Yicks!  I did find some on Etsy though and ordered two yards.  I also found two yards of Kona Watermelon, the other color I needed more of, on Etsy and placed an order for that, too.  Hopefully, they'll arrive soon.  In the meantime, I got all of the drunkard's path squares done and put together the first row.

The Kona Enchanted, the background which is a dark bluish-green, really makes these pinks, Watermelon and Flamingo, POP!

I got only two more of the triangle scrappy blocks done before it got too hot upstairs.

78/100

Tuesday!  I decided to start a new project!

I cut out a bunch of parts then realized I don't have enough of one of the fabrics.  Jeez.  I just ordered a bunch of Kona solids from Fabric.com and it's not one of the ones that are coming.  Of course.  Now, do I order just that fabric and spend just as much on shipping or order a whole bunch of fabric so I can get free shipping?  This is one of the more important decisions I have to make in my life.

I sewed some of the Drunkard's Path parts together...

It got hot up there, so I quickly sewed up a two blocks to keep my 100dayproject2020 going.

We ran some errands at lunch time and I stopped and picked up some more goldfish.  I wanted more Shubunkins, but they were out.  I bought five Ryukin goldfish.  They are so small, I'm worried that my big Shubunkin will eat some of these new little guys.  Hide Little Guys!

77/100

I made just three of the project's scrappy triangle blocks on this 77th day of 100.

Then I moved on to working on the project from the weekend workshop - Layered Curves.  I made some more strips, added more colors and then stuck them up on the wall.  I am now not sure where to take it from here.

76/100

I'm still working on sewing the Covid rows together and making new scrappy triangle blocks by using them as leaders/enders.  I made four before lunch.

Then we broke for lunch, Yuki is enjoying being outside and getting fresh air.

After lunch, I made eight more blocks and finished off the last of the Covid rows.

I think I'm going to take these down and put them away so I can work on the pieces I made in yesterday's workshop.

DAY 75 of 100

Wow.  Who would have thought I'd have made it this far!?  Seems a breeze now.

Today I was signed up for a workshop on Zoom with Sherri Lynn Wood titled Layered Improv Curves.  I've wanted to see methods for doing improv curves and was very excited to be able to attend.  These days of being shut in, though difficult, have opened up opportunities we wouldn't otherwise have been able to take advantage of.

I'm also babysitting Victoria's new kitten, Yuki for the weekend while they go camping in Eastern Washington.

Zoom meeting in the background.
Afterwards, I got another row sewn together and a few more triangles, again being sewn while being used as leaders/enders.  I like this method.  I may just do this as a regular thing.

That's enough for the day.  I'm tired.

74/100

Friday, another beautiful day.  Maybe a little too hot.

I am still sewing rows of triangles together on the Covid quilt.  In between I'm using the scrappy triangle sewing as a leader/ender.  I got a lot of triangles done that way.  Thirteen today.

Darrell is re-doing the bench room in his shop.  In the process, he's doing away with the TV he had in there for doing slide shows.  So, he installed it upstairs in my studio today.  We hooked up an antennae and there are 9 channels, mostly PBS.  Next Tuesday the Roku I ordered will show up.

73/100

It's Jelly's birthday today.  She turns five.

I got excited and made ten very plain whitish triangles before lunch.

Then I replaced the dark ones with these lighter ones:

 Then another ten after lunch.

I put them all up on the wall and it now looks a lot better.

Then I started sewing the top two rows together.

72/100

I had enough background triangles done, so I put them up on the wall again to see how they looked.  I'm glad I did because I don't like how it looks.

I decided that the 'background' triangles were too dark and the pattern got lost.

I think it needs whiter, plainer triangles around the red ones.

I made  them and exchanged eleven of them out - it does look better.

71/100

Not enough sleep last night.  I didn't get much done today.  But, I did get some work done on my #100dayproject.  Today is day 71.  Wow.

About the only other thing I did was to clean and move the little wind chimes that have been hanging out by the front gate for the last ten years. It is now hanging on the north corner of the new gazebo on the back deck.  Now we can enjoy the beautiful little song that it sings.

69/100

It was a beautiful day.  I got a lot of things done today.  I cleaned up the picnic table area and swept the walkways.

I even got seven more triangle blocks done in a scrappy manner...

The strawberries are good.

68/100

Here's a whole eleven new triangle blocks made from the scrap bucket.

GOOD CAT/BAD CAT

We had the dog door closed last night so V's new kitty Yuki could run around but not get outside.  I looked out and saw Bentley out there wanting in with his little friend.  Nope, it was still alive.  Nope, you can just stay outside with that.

67/100

I added a border to the Joe Project:

I want it to be rectangular.  I don't know how I'll do that.  I'm out of the two greys I used for the background.  I suppose I could order more.

Then I spent some nice quiet time making more background triangles from  the scrap bucket.
