BINDING DAY

I tackled the binding for the big Garden Club quilt.  It's 88" by 88" which makes it difficult so I decided to do only one side of it today and save my neck, shoulders and arms.  I took my time and didn't overdo it and got done.

Then I went ahead and sewed the binding on the much smaller charm quilt, One Room Schoolhouse which is 32" by 40".  I did both sides and it is done.

This is finish #3 for the year.

ROUND ROBIN FINISHED

I got around to finishing the binding on the old Round Robin quilt.

It's finished!

I think this is number 5 for the year.

TWO MORE BLOCKS

I hung out with the Brave Patch Finish It Friday group today.  My laptop's camera decided not to work though.  It was projecting all green.  But, I was able to hear and see just fine.

I made two more Coordinates blocks.  I think that will be enough.

Now I can start sewing them together into a top.

QUILTING PROBLEMS

I setup a pantograph and started Erik quilting on Tractor Beam.

Then it was one thing after another.  First of all, Erik really hates quilting right-to-left, so he shredded the thread every chance he got.   I even changed from Aurifil to Wonderfil thread because it's 3-ply and a little thicker.  That reduced the number of shreddings a bit, but didn't eliminate them.

Then the sew-head went black, the lights went out and it stopped. That scared the heck out of me!   So on a walk-around I discovered the plug on the back had worked its way out.  I plugged it in, restarted, and got him working again.  Phew.

THEN, the darn hopping foot, #74 with a plastic cup, broke!  Good grief, I guess I'm lucky the needle didn't run over it and jam up the machine.

I gave up for the day, and went to join the Brave Patch Finish it Friday get-together.

I made this week's Art East Quilting Mini block, #35, The Thread.

CUTTING ORANGE PEELS

I spent the morning cutting the 'orange peel' shapes from the black with white 2-patches for the Crushing It quilt.  It was slow and monotonous work and I had to pay attention to the accuracy of my cutting, too.  I'm glad that's over with.

Today was a meeting of the Brave Patch Finish It Friday group.  I worked a bit on my DWTW2 that's been on the design wall all week.  I did make one block and got some great ideas.  But, I had to take it all down because tomorrow I'll need the wall for a workshop.

WILDFLOWER ON THE LONGARM

 I've been quilting on Wildflower.

I gotta get it done before the end of the month.

Then it was time for Finish It Friday, and I managed to sew all of the Loretto blocks together and make a quilt top.
