RABBIT PILLOW

I finally got all of the things and tools that I needed to turn my Rabbit needlepoint into a pillow.

Here it is, it's done.  And I like it!  It will be living on our bed during the day now.

DOG IN SWEATER

Dogs In Sweaters is a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman.  I'm making a pillow for Hailey and her family.  They had a black and tan dachshund, Duke, whom they lost recently.  So, when Hailey was her for a few days, during her spring break, I asked her to pick the colors.

I cut and sewed it all together while she was out having a day with her Grandpa.  I worked on it today while attending a Groove Session on Brave Patch from 9am to 11am.  Then the Sew Modern Connection zoomed from 11am until about 3pm.  So, that was a long day of sewing, but I got both the top done and the dog's name pieced on one of the back parts.  That was a lot of sewing, I'm tired.

HORSE EYES

I worked on making the two sides of the Horse Pillow.  I finished piecing the last one and then quilted them both and cut out the shapes.

I rousted my wool collection and cut out the shapes for the ears and eyes.  The ears are sewn on at this point.

I took them into the house and hand appliqued the felt 'eyes' while watching another episode of Pennyworth (love it) after dinner.

After lunch, I cleaned up the studio in anticipation of the delivery of my new Q24!

HORSE!

I'm making a Horse Pillow from a pattern by Jo Avery.

She is also having a Sew-A-Long this month which I'm sort of following.

I ran across these Tumbler block pieces I'd cut out years ago from a William Morris fabric collection.  I'm using them.  Black, taupe and gold - lovely.

This week we are just to make the two sides of the horse.

QUILT DELIVERED

Darrell and I took the Opening Night quilt over to Nicole and Victoria's new home and installed it on Victoria's bed, along with the pillows I made, too.

I love how it looked on her black bed.  I hope she enjoys it.

ANOTHER MARKET BREAKFAST

Well, it was back to Lowell's for breakfast again this morning.  Skyler had oatmeal with berries (she ate the berries and drank her hot chocolate).

Posing by our medallion.
We didn't spend much time there, and headed back home after a quick tour of the Market.  I bought some sunflowers.  I think I'll do a real painting.

I helped Skyler make a little pillow for her dolls from the leftover fabrics for her pillowcase.  [ Edit:Sara sent us a picture when she got it home.]

FIRST DAY OF 2018

I finally turned my finished needlepoint fox into a pillow.  I finished the needlepoint a while back, but had problems finding the right fabric and color for the back.  I wanted green wool velvet.  I don't think they make such a thing anymore.  The few green velvets I found were the wrong color green.  I ended up going with an orangy-brown back - it matches the fox!  Even after I got that fabric, I procrastinated because I don't really know how to make a pillow.

So, I just went ahead and did the best I could.  I wanted it to be done.

And it is!
