FODDER FOLDER

 This month's Handmade Book Club's book is Buttonhole Binding. 

I decided to make a Fodder Folder using in this style.  I used file folders and sewed vinyl sleeves into them.  Then I covered book boards with some fabric I've had around for a while.

I got it all assembled today.

MEMORIES

 While inventorying my collection of quilting books, I ran into this:

It's a Quilters' Travel Companion book from 2000, and it contains an ad from Pieces Quilt Shop, which was mine at that time.  Good memories.

Pre-Google, back when the internet was new, this was a great resource if you were traveling around the states.  It listed almost all of the independent quilt shops.  So many of these are gone now.  

Good times.

BOOK CLUB SUNDAY

 The Brave Patch Book Club met today to talk about the book we've been reading (looking at, because there's more pictures than words), Woman House.  

As usual, there was a lively, lovely discussion.

After, I sewed together some of the white with black squares for the Crushing It quilt I had stacked up. I cut them into their new shape.  That was fun.  Lots more to go though.

Just for fun I took the parts I had cut out and sewed them together.  No, I don't know what I'll do with them, but they will make interesting seeds for some new project.

 Today's prompt for #30daysketchbookchallenge is "Bookcase."

This is really my bookcase, my books, a small section anyway.

BOOK ARRIVED

 Our next selection for the Brave Patch Book Club is "This Long Thread" by Jen Hewett.  I ordered it from her website.  It arrived today, lovingly wrapped in tissue and she signed the title page.  I can't wait to get started reading it.
