MONDAY SEW

 I continued making strip sets today with my Brave Patch Monday Sew-in Buddies.

I rearranged the results, too.

But first I had to chase this potato out of my scrap bucket...

JAPANESE MAPLE

 Here is a group of photos showing the progression of the loss of leaves over a few weeks.

I started taking daily photos as homework for my upcoming workshop with Irene Roderick.

We had a big windstorm at one point and the tree lost a lot of it's leaves overnight.

Then you can see, a few days later, where we cleaned up the leaves and debris.

This has been a very interesting project.

 I've been quilting on the Spring Equinox quilt and it's finally done!

A WALK IN THE SNOW

 The weather has cleared after the snow and then the rain making it possible to get out and about.  The skies cleared and there was blue!  I took the dogs to Lincoln Park for a muddy walk.  They loved it and so did I.

 Darrell helped me out by taking photos of quilts for me.  I wanted to get pictures of my Millennium Quilt - which I haven't seen in about 15 years.  It's been in a closet and doesn't smell very good.  But it looks good.  It never got much use.

Then he photographed the Covid quilt.

FRIDAY FUN

 This gorgeous Friday morning started out with a nice walk through Lincoln Park.  Jelly believes she's a much bigger, tougher dog than she appears to be.

For lunch, we ordered some food from Cafe Con Leche (Cuban), picked it up and took it down to the park at the end of Diagonal Avenue off East Marginal Way S.   We sat at a picnic table, near the shore of the Duwamish River and watched the boats and birds.  It was magical and the weather was perfect.

Back home I had to stop and admire the color on our Cone Flowers.

I finished off yesterday's blocks and also did three more.

Today was very busy again.  I ordered the treated lumber for the deck - it will be ready to pick up tomorrow.  

Today was the day the lumber for the decking was to be delivered (Tigerwood).  They had told us we'd have two hours to unload it.  So, when they called and said the truck would be here in an hour I drove down to Home Depot and hired two guys to come and help unload all of that lumber.  

Then when the truck showed up the driver said there was a forklift on the way.  A few minutes later, another truck shows up with a forklift.  We all stood around and watched as he offloaded it and push it all down to the end of the driveway.  

I told the workers I had other work if they were interested.  So, we had them move Darrell's elliptical machine down from my studio (he's going to sell it).  Then they moved the heavy cement planter for me.  I then told them they could move that pile of dirt left from the pond project (from 5 years ago!) that was undercover in the front yard.  I had them wheelbarrow it and dump it under the deck, where it can live unseen.  Yoohoo!  I wasn't looking forward to doing that myself.  So, it was so worth it to me.  They were very hard workers.

REPLACING DECK - TEAR OUT

We spent this beautiful Saturday morning tearing the old deck top off.  It was in really bad shape.

The neighbors across the street had a tree removal company there cutting down a very big fir tree.  They had a chain saw and chipper going most of the day.  With that noise and our disruption, the dogs and cats were a little upset.

I just barely squeaked these out.  I was busy doing other things, but I made myself work on the scrap bucket for a while anyway.

I was making the dark blocks for the green Churndash quilt.

Jax was busy sleeping until I disturbed him.
