Scenes from the Road of Life
I worked on the Crushing It's parts and pieces this morning. After I counted, I realized I was still three blocks short. I needed both black and 'red' 5" squares cut and sewn together and trimmed.
Once I got all of the parts ready, I started sewing on the last of the black 'orange peels' to complete the circles.
I counted again. And, hurrah, I now have 35 'blocks' and the 'white' backgrounds all done.
Ready to assemble the top.
I inserted curvy bits into the teal wedge and joined it with the big parts of my Greensleeves project. Looking great. Now what?
I spent a few minutes rearranging and editing the parts on Greensleeves. It's on the design wall. This weekend I'm taking another workshop and think I'll be making parts to add to it.
I trimmed up a few of the parts for my project and then they didn't fit right anymore. It was very frustrating. I was conflicted about what to do about it. Should I add something in there? - then it would be wider and I really didn't want that. Should I just sew them together as is? - then it wouldn't be square anymore and I'd have to cut something off. I decided to let it stew for a while.
Today, I went back up to the studio after staying away for a few days.
I looked at the project and decided to try putting some more teal in the gap.

I can't believe that the more fabric I use on the project, the bigger the pile I take them from gets. How does that happen?
I went back to working on the project from the Stack-N-Cut Curves Workshop with Sherri Lynn Wood that I attended via zoom several weekends ago.
I thought I would get it a little more organized. I began by sewing together what I already had. That entailed editing and adding parts and pieces to make them fit.
It took me all day and I sorta feel like I didn't get anywhere because I made no new parts. And I'm still not getting these parts to fit together.
But, I'm liking it.
