MUD CLOTH TABLE MAT

 I started with a piece of black fabric 24" by 36".  I cut randomly sized pieces from my collection of African Mud Cloth and fit them onto the black backing.  Then I zigzagged them down onto the backing, connecting them to each other also.

I cut some wide binding from the black Kona and bound it by machine.

It will now reside on our dining room table for a while.

TABLERUNNER DONE

 I finished the quilting on the tablerunner, made the binding and got that put on while zooming with the Monday Brave Patchers.

It will be in the entry for a while now.

I got my hair cut this morning.  It's been over a year since I got it cut.  I think it was the longest it's ever been.  If it wasn't such a pain and always getting in my way I would have like to have really long hair.  But, since it is a pain and is always getting in my way, I had to get it cut.  I told the stylist to cut about 5" off, but.... I thought it would look shorter.

TABLERUNNER ON THE LA

 I got the backing made, the batting frankensteined and got the tablerunner loaded onto the longarm machine. 

I got a little quilting done.  The poor thing has ruffled borders and isn't the greatest of square.

I had to stop early because I had a zoom meeting with Sew Modern Connection.  While listening to them talk I got the binding made and put on Suspended - it's really done now.

Then I started making improv triangles using fabrics from the scrap bin.  These are for the March instructions of the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild's BOM for this year.  I haven't been really invested in it yet, but there wasn't much else to do.

CHRISTMAS RUNNER

 I saw a picture of this design as a pillow - one block - and thought that would make a really nice Christmas tablerunner for our front entry.  I had to draft the design and print the little 2-1/4" squares onto foundation papers.

It takes 64 squares for each block - and it took me a couple of days to get this far with one block, 18" x 18".  I need three to make a tablerunner.  I stopped, I have other things I should be doing instead.  Oh, well.

I discovered, after I had made all of these little blocks, that the printer had copied some of the pages at different sizes.  I don't understand that, at all.

OCTOBER ENTRY

 I put my new October Tablerunner onto the entry way table along with the haunted house I made years ago. (and pumpkins from our garden)

OCTOBER TABLERUNNER

 I worked on the tablerunner I started a few weeks ago.  I got inspiration for this from a friend on  Instagram - and I stole her idea.  I used the technique of staring at her project until I absorbed it, then I put it away and made mine.  It turned out different than hers, but similar.

Finally finished making enough squares and sewed them together.  It's about 20" by 50".  Now to make a back and get it quilted.  I'd like to put it in the entry way on our server.

DISTRACTION

I probably should be working on finishing my Floating Squares, but... 

I saw this design on Instagram and thought it would be great as a tablerunner for the front hallway.  So, I stole the idea.

I'm only about half way done with making these little blocks.

FINISHED LEAF TABLERUNNER

I took the Leaf Tablerunner off the longarm the other day and put facing on it.  Instead of hand sewing the facing down on the back, I decided to sew it down by machine.  It looked really nice and I decided to continue with the echo lines quilting all over using the walking foot.

I put it on the table in the entryway.

QUILTING TABLERUNNER

I loaded the Leaf Tablerunner onto my longarm and got the top row quilted today.  Well, I did the outlining of the 'leaves'.  I'm not sure about what to put in the background yet.

Went for an earlier walk in Lincoln Park than normally this morning.  I actually didn't see anyone else in the park, until I was back to the south parking lot.

It's quite nice walking through the small grove of small Redwoods.

I finished making the top of the Leaf Tablerunner.   I even made a back for it.

I've got that Quiltalong loaded on the longarm, so I can't quilt anything else.  I still waiting for the batting to get here so I can start on it.

I did a little more on the scrap bucket project, too.

Oh, the Kona Flamingo fabric I ordered has finally arrived!  I can work on the Ribbons quilt tomorrow, too.

UNITY TABLERUNNER

I sewed together the blocks I made to show Unity, Variation and Contrast to turn them into a tablerunner for our front entry table.

I got it quilted and bound today.

And finally, to show Unity with Variation and Contrast for the Design Class I'm taking.

After I show them in class, I think  I'll sew them all together and make a tablerunner.

VALENTINE

I had order a charm pack of Valentine fabrics a little while ago.  They arrived yesterday and today I sewed them together to make this really bad tablerunner.  I thought I was going to do something with a little more style, but I just wanted to get it done and not spend time on it, so it's just squares.

Actually, I had to quilt it on my new Bernina 770 because I had loaded the back of Trinkets Six onto Eduard and it's still there, waiting for batting.  The machine did great, so did the walking foot.

I don't know why it ruffled.  It might help if I ironed it.  But I don't like it. 

It's too.....too garish.

Here it is all pinned and ready to quilt.  Haven't done that in a while.

HALLOWEEN DONE

Yesterday I went into Renton to Sewing  Machine Service.  They were having an open house and 25% off Bernina accessories.  I bought a walking foot and a rolled hem foot and some thread.  These people are much more informed than those at Quality Sewing.  I'm now wishing I had bought my machine through them.

Using my newly purchased walking foot, I put the bindings onto the two Halloween tablerunners.  It definitely worked better than just the dual feed.  But, I was really impressed - it is a much better design than my old walking foot.  The have improved it to make it easier to see where you are and where the quilting edge is, with markings for quarter inch.  I love it.

You gotta wonder why these are supposed to be the same size - yet, somehow, aren't.  

Mr. Bentley prefers staying inside where it's warm and dry on these rainy, drizzly days. Life is good.

HALLOWEEN OFF

I finally finished the quilting on  the second Halloween tablerunner and got it off the machine.

RUNNERS

I finally pieced together the HST squares I made from a charm pack of Halloween prints.  I made two tablerunners.

I put them on the Eduard and started quilting them.

I've got one done and the next one stitched on right below it.

CLIENT WORK DAY

I got another job from the same people my last one was with.

This time it's just a little tablerunner.  I got it all quilted by computer, made the binding and got the binding on in one day - about 5-1/2 hours total.  [Made $45]  Let's not think about that too much.

I had to repair a few seams that weren't sewn together before I started.
