NYC QUILT MAILED

 I put my NYC quilt into the post.  It's on its way to Hampton Virginia for the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show, February 29-March 3rd.

I won't be there, so I would appreciate it if you could send me a picture of it hanging there.

NYC QUILTED

I finished the quilting on the NYC quilt today.  Erik was a great help.

 I've been quilting every day for several hours on the NYC quilt.

 I'm doing a lot of straight line quilting on NYC.  Every which way.

QUILTING STARTS ON NYC

 I finally got the NYC quilt loaded on Eric the Longarm.  

I did some horizontal straight lines in the 'background' today.

 Before our Brave Patch Finish it Friday get-together, I worked on making another improv block.

Here's one that was inspired by an event in my life.

Then I managed to get this NYC project finished.  It's a quilt top!

WORKING ON OLD PROJECT

 I got out an old project from 2018.  It was a workshop with Joe Cunningham.  He had us make 'gates' using two fabrics, all sizes and shapes.  I was limited on my fabric choices, and I wasn't really happy with them.  After we made all these 'gates' everyone got a photocopy of a Franz Kline painting.  He told us to make something that looks like that.   I hardly worked on it after the workshop.

So, here it is, five years later and I feel like I really want to finish it.

FINISH AND BEGINNING

 It's Finish it Friday on Brave Patch and I finished the backing for Loretto.  I haven't been able to ink the label because my printer doesn't want to work.  

I put that project away and got out my old (2018) NYC quilt thinking I was going to cut it up and add some different fabrics.  But, once I got it up on the wall I was surprised that I liked it now and I don't think it's needs any different colors.  The gals on zoom agreed.

So, I think I want to make it bigger by adding some more of the 'teal' color background and add a few more pieces to the structure.  And that means I need to buy some more of the background fabric - Cotton Coutour 'Isle'.  I ordered some from Hancocks of Paducah along with some other fabrics including the new Color of the Year (COTY) Kona 'Crush' for other projects.  There's not much I can do on this until the fabric gets here.
