SPRING EQUINOX DONE

 I've been quilting on the Spring Equinox quilt and it's finally done!

FIRST WALK IN PARK

 I went for my first walk in Lincoln Park yesterday morning.

Jelly was thrilled.

We went a little too far, a little over a mile, and I was hurting by the time we made it back to the parking lot.  This was also the first time I drove since surgery, too.

We went back this morning for a shorter walk.

A WALK IN THE SNOW

 The weather has cleared after the snow and then the rain making it possible to get out and about.  The skies cleared and there was blue!  I took the dogs to Lincoln Park for a muddy walk.  They loved it and so did I.

FINISHED PRINT

I finished up the carving on my print for the Kindness Puzzle Collaborative Print.  I think it turned out pretty good, with a minimum of mistakes.  The dogs enjoyed hanging out with me out by the picnic table.

Then we moved up onto the deck and continued with the napping, until it got too hot to stay outside.

Once inside, Jax continued with his nap.

It was a good day for dogs.

FISH MONDAY

I went to the pet store today to get a plecostomus.  Maybe he can help with the build-up of algae in my poor little fish's tank.

It was too hot today, didn't do much - watched this happen:

I finished off yesterday's blocks and also did three more.

Today was very busy again.  I ordered the treated lumber for the deck - it will be ready to pick up tomorrow.  

Today was the day the lumber for the decking was to be delivered (Tigerwood).  They had told us we'd have two hours to unload it.  So, when they called and said the truck would be here in an hour I drove down to Home Depot and hired two guys to come and help unload all of that lumber.  

Then when the truck showed up the driver said there was a forklift on the way.  A few minutes later, another truck shows up with a forklift.  We all stood around and watched as he offloaded it and push it all down to the end of the driveway.  

I told the workers I had other work if they were interested.  So, we had them move Darrell's elliptical machine down from my studio (he's going to sell it).  Then they moved the heavy cement planter for me.  I then told them they could move that pile of dirt left from the pond project (from 5 years ago!) that was undercover in the front yard.  I had them wheelbarrow it and dump it under the deck, where it can live unseen.  Yoohoo!  I wasn't looking forward to doing that myself.  So, it was so worth it to me.  They were very hard workers.

I just barely squeaked these out.  I was busy doing other things, but I made myself work on the scrap bucket for a while anyway.

I was making the dark blocks for the green Churndash quilt.

Jax was busy sleeping until I disturbed him.

MISTAKE?

Today I was contemplating whether it was a mistake to change to one white for the Pi Quilt.  I was able to order more of the 'daisy' white and black fabric and it's on its way.  But, I didn't think about whether I'd have enough of the black fabric to remake the first four rows.

I think it might be close.  If I run short, I could always cannibalize some of the first four rows (which I was planning on making into another small Pi).

I've gotten alot of the pieces of the white cut out.  I sewed together some of the 8aat (eight at a time) squares for the many, many half-square-triangle squares that I will need.

Today I cut and trimmed some of those.  I like the idea of doing just one row at a time, this is just too much - the brain starts to check out.

Stix has set up a cot in my studio - he's working in Darrell's shop for several days this week.  Jax found it very nice.

SUNDAY WET WALK

It was very rainy on our walk in Lincoln Park.  We were all soaked afterwards - except Darrell, he has a really nice rain jacket.

They were good dogs for a minute.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

I took my value study blocks to class last weekend, so now I can sew them all together (with the other parts) and make a quilt top.

I was going to load Birdbox onto the longarm this afternoon, but it was way too hot up in the studio.

What a gorgeous last day of the year!

It was cold and foggy in places, but the sun was shining down at Lincoln Park with foggy spots out on the water.  

The Olympics were exceptionally tall today.

Boneheads.

I thought I better get my quilt, Carolinas, ready to mail to Quiltcon.  I still need to finish the binding.

SUNDAY WALK

It was a beautiful morning after lots of rain showers.  We all went for a long walk at Lincoln Park.

The Olympics were happily proud this morning.

 After, Jax was very happy and wanted me to know.

He's a funny dog.
