Scenes from the Road of Life
I met with some of members of the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild this morning.
We brought quilts to display and admire and talk about.
I brought the books I'm donating to the guild and passed them off to the librarian.
I volunteered to help sew together the blocks for a Seattle Modern Quilt Guild's community giving quilt. They sent the blocks and a plan on how to put them together.
I got the top third of the quilt.
It went together quite quickly and easily.
It's a bit too pink for my taste!
The Seattle Modern Quilt Guild had a Gather, Show and Swap meet-up at View Ridge Playfield in NE Seattle.
This year they changed it to start at 10am instead of noon. I was able to make it for the first time.
It was fun. I took three quilts to show, Cincinnati, Blissfully and Eddy. We were in the shade, so not too hot.
We laid plastic or something out on the grass and put the quilts on top of that. I brought a lawn chair.
[It's still really hard to photograph that dark Kona Regal color.]
All done!
Wow, right?
Here's my ten fabrics and my Swatch Panel to keep them straight.
The main fabric for this project, the dark purple, is a Kona called Regal. I love it.
