We met up with Darrell's uncle David at the Asheville airport where we turned in our rental car and rode with him to Charleston.
On the way, we made a few stops. First, Uncle David wanted to show us the view from Caesars Head State Park. It was spectacular.
We left there and headed to Columbia, the capital of South Carolina and it's State House.

We went on a tour, lead by a docent who was full of stories and history. It was very informative and interesting. Unfortunately, we had to leave early and be on our way to Charleston.
We arrived around 4pm and met up with Aunt Susan. We walked for a little while on the boardwalk at Shem Creek Park, enjoying the beautiful Charleston Harbor. We had a great dinner at a restaurant on the water.
