TREE TRIMMING DAY

We hired a tree company to company and trim the hedge and trees.  They made us a great offer to cut down the Grand Fir in the front yard because it was dying.  We had planned to wait a few years, but they made us a deal if we'd do it today.

Starting up to trim the tree in front of the shop.

Jax was fascinated - is that a really large squirrel in the tree, or what?

The Grand Fir in the front yard was the last project.  They started at the bottom and cut the limbs off as he went up.  Then he cut the top off and cut small lengths off as he came down.  The guys on the ground were removing the cut limbs and running them to the chipper as fast as they came down.

It's gone.  But we have lots of firewood.
It really changes the front yard.  The plan now is to plant some vine maples, rhodies and maybe even some flowers in that area, since there is more light!
